"I want cookie!"
Are you really surprised? It was 5 minutes to bedtime and the kids wanted a snack. So I quickly grabbed an oatmeal cream pie for them to split. Of course, Beau wanted the whole thing and would accept nothing less. I tried to coax him to take his half and then to take a bite or two, to no avail. So I brushed his teeth and put him into bed. He climbed out, crying. Again I tried to get him to take what was offered, but he wouldn't budge. I put him back in his bed and he laid there crying for his cookie. Don't worry, he was asleep within the minute. The moral of the story is: You can't reason with a 1-year-old at bedtime.
